What’s the biggest barrier for our bodies to the outside environment? Like body armor to the medieval knight, our skin protects us from toxins and harmful pathogens.  Your skin is the fabric that wraps and protects your vital organs from the outside environment.  It’s also the first thing that others see.  It’s our first impression and protector.

1) It’s the largest organ.

2) It’s surface area when stretched out is 1.5 – 2 square meters.

3) It accounts for 15% of body weight and can weigh more than 20 lbs.
