Our Story

In 2005, I attended a very important cosmetics fair in Bologna, Italy, called Cosmopeof.  While walking around the convention floor, I saw a booth advertising for organic cosmetics.  Until that point, I had never heard of organic cosmetics and had absolutely no idea how to make my own. As soon as I saw the sign my interest was piqued and I began further research.

I realized there are actually a lot of organic conventions with the most important one, Biofach, occurring in Nuremberg, Germany.  I had to go and learn more.  After attending, I came to the full understanding that organic cosmetics do not use chemicals or petroleum products, they’re regulated with the same standards for organic food and they DO NOT test on animals.  At this point I was fascinated and totally committed to my path in creating a certified organic cosmetics line.  I studied the market as well as the standards governing organic cosmetics and it took four years of trial and error for my team to obtain the correct formula and necessary international certifications.

Personally, I have always had problematic allergies relating to cosmetic products. I never used the various creams on the market because they would cause rashes on my skin, sometimes very painful.  For so many years, I had no idea these problems were caused by the chemicals and toxic ingredients in traditional cosmetics. I only knew that I was allergic and it was getting worse.

During the development of Anamê Vio Organic Cosmetics, I was diagnosed with celiac disease and started living a gluten free lifestyle. It became an obvious priority for me that our cosmetics also be gluten free, so I could use them. Once I was completely gluten free in my diet and with the products I used on my skin, I stopped having so many allergy related problems.  More and more I began loving organic because I saw the changes on my own skin and with my body.  I had suffered for so many years with horrible allergies.

Our company is from Argentina and we’re incredibly proud of Argentinian heritage.  Argentina  is a very ideal location for an organic cosmetic brand because we have a vast amount of certified organic cultivated land.  Being from Argentina, our name Anamê Vio is Spanish.  It was actually born from a mistake in the registry when I set-up the business.  Anamê was originally meant to be Amame which means love me in Spanish. I added Vio which means integral organic vision.

At Anamê Vio, we believe that to take care of yourself you have to begin by loving yourself and that love is the basis of all healthy existence.  In building Anamê Vio, my team and I are doing what we love. We’ve spent so many years working to build our dream business and today it is a reality.  We now exist to help you learn to love yourself more and take the best care of your skin and body.  Once you experience the world of organics cosmetics and all its benefits, there’s no turning back…
